The week of Apr 24, 2017 – Apr 30, 2017
Monday: Gym session with Johnny. Reading. Wasted time on the net.
Tuesday: Some body corporate work, then straight home to get back to the book I’m reading. Enjoying A Little Life.
Wednesday: Another gym session with Johnny. Reading.
Thursday: Public holiday: Freedom Day. Day spent fiddling with the PCL library. Dinner with David at Banana Jam Cafe.
Friday: A days leave to maximise the long weekend. More PCL programming, staying home because my front door is being varnished as part of the complex repaint and needs to dry staying open. Roasted two lamb shanks and made lamb and barley soup. YouTube and reading.
Saturday: Finished reading A Little Life by Hanya Yanagihara. Woodwork day: started work on a side table. Grocery shopping, gym. Dinner and catch-up with Paul at The Red Herring.
A Little Life by Hanya Yanagihara
My rating: 5 of 5 stars
Loved it, my kind of a book. Broad in scope, deep in themes, multiple complex characters. In parts dark and depressing, always emotional, beautifully told.
Sunday: A drive with mom, lunch at Banana Jam Cafe. Watched the Formula 1 with Chris, Arno and Catherine at Chris’s home. Fun. Watched Annie Hall, good movie.
My work wee was divided as follows: 66% bug fixing, 33% testing.
Podcasts listened to this week: TED Radio Hour; Triangulation #295; Simple Programmer #442, 443; How I Built This; Making It #117.
