The week of Feb 5, 2018 – Feb 11, 2018
Helping to sell the family home of 50 years…
Monday: Woke up tired after a busy weekend. Ordered plywood from Chip Base for some garage shelving. Put the second coat of varnish on the bookcase. Watched movie V for Vendetta.
I know I’m not supposed to read Murakami for the plot, but still I found it dull with not much happening.
Wednesday: Gym session with Johnny. Admin for mom’s life rights purchase, including paying of the deposit. Evening spent helping her clear out the contents of another piece of furniture. Met the neighbor son, bizarre that only happens when we’re both selling.
Thursday: Collected the plywood order, transporting it was quite an ordeal. Quiz night with Barbs and Paul. We came third and won some chocolate.
Friday: Finished the bookcase project. Watched sone old Friends episodes.
Saturday: Placed the order for the wood for mom’s new bookcases and cabinets. Collected laundry. Met with the estate agent who presented a good offer on mom’s house. Lunch with mom at Casa Bella at the casino. We accepted the offer and I helped her sign the contract. A momentous occasion. A little woodworking on the false-front study trolley.
Sunday: Didn’t sleep well. Awake in the middle of the night watching some trashy movie. Helped mom with various move related chores, tidying and organisation This will be normal for the next couple of months.
My work week was divided into: 40% new work, 40% bug fixing, 20% refactoring.
Podcasts listened to this week: NPR What It Takes, Tim Ferriss, TED Radio Hour.
