Week 393

The week of Mar 18, 2019 – Mar 24, 2019

Plumbing, concert…

Monday: A DIY plumbing evening: fixed two dripping taps, one just a washer, the other a replacement. Night time load shedding is very restrictive.

Tuesday: Another DIY evening. Ordered the geyser electrical cables into neat and tidy conduit. It didn’t go smoothly.

Wednesday: Grocery shopping, takeaway from The Brasserie. Load shedding, watched the immensely funny Schitt’s Creek on Netflix on my phone during load shedding.

Thursday: Public holiday – a very full day. Planned the cabinetry needed to enclose the geyser. Julia, Paul, Gareth, and Jody came round for drinks and snacks before we walked to Rock on the Lawns festival at the racecourse. I preferred the support bands to the main act. Suppose I’m not enough of a The Cure fan. Got tired and bored. We helped a random stranger get an Uber from my flat otherwise she’d have been stranded.

Friday: Slow day, no thanks to the late night. Punjab Express takeaway.

Saturday: Ordered the wood for the geyser cabinet rebuild. Took mom to see Arderne Gardens, then lunch at Panama Jack’s and coffee at Cassis, Gardens Centre. Followed by an afternoon of drinking beer with Greig at Toad in the Village. Great seeing him again. Goodfellas home.

Sunday: Morning tea and family time with Patrick and mom. Casual lunch at my place. A little DIY, chores and TV watching.

My work week was divided into: 50% new work, 50% refactoring

Podcasts listened to this week: CppCast; Beyond the Grid.
