The week of Apr 17, 2017 – Apr 23, 2017
Feeling satisfied with side projects and reading…
Monday: Public holiday: Grocery shopping, haircut with Lynn. Back to my flat to do some computer catch-up. Gym, wind down to a rather uneventful long weekend. Finished reading Pattern Recognition by William Gibson.
Pattern Recognition by William Gibson
My rating: 2 of 5 stars
Not a very complex story. Only one dominant character. A lame ending. Dated web 1.0 references. Sometimes hard to follow sentence structure.
Tuesday: Early start to beat the traffic, turned out not that congested. Picked mom up from the airport at midday. Reading. Tired, early to bed.
Wednesday: Gym. Published a blog post and accompanying YouTube video on my time lapse project. Glad that it’s done and out of the way.
Thursday: Successfully completed CodeEval challenge 59. Moves me up the leaderboard to 14th in South Africa (any language) and 549 in the world (C++ language).
Friday: Gym, grocery shopping, YouTube and reading.
Saturday: Copy shop visit for some guillotine work, scanning documents. My sister gave me a belated birthday present of some artisanal chocolate covered Turkish Delight. Afternoon spent finishing the cabling for moms well point. Sushi dinner at Sukura with Barbs, Estelle and Heidi.
Sunday: Bacon and eggs for breakfast, can’t remember when last I did that. Walk with Julia in Tokai park, followed by coffee at Vovo Telo. Lunch with mom at Cafe Magnifico. Tidied the garage, chores.
My work week was divided into: 50% new work, 50% bug fixing.
