The week of Sep 11, 2017 – Sep 17, 2017
A lot of eating…
Monday: Gym: squash with Rod. Fried some steak, I normally fail at that, this time it was awesome. Started and finished week 1 of the next Coursera course I’m doing.
We had a version release and I had to make a code change at the eleventh hour which doesn’t make me happy.
Tuesday: Body corporate trustees meeting. Chicken korma takeaway from Bihari.
Wednesday: Gym. Demo day at work followed by a company work function at Jake’s. Had a really tasty pasta dish.
Thursday: Slow day. Pick n pay pizza for dinner. Watched movie Prisoners, pretty good. Finished reading Nutshell, by Ian McEwan.
Nutshell by Ian McEwan
My rating: 4 of 5 stars
Clever, told from an interesting perspective, yet not contrived or forced.
Friday: Company launch at Crystal Towers Hotel. Impressive in many ways. Drinks at Knife Bar. Nice to see Johan again.
Saturday: Busy day, though not much to show for it. Got some missing keys replaced, more unsuccessful sofa shopping, lunch with mom at Da Vinci’s. Watched the Formula 1 qualifying. Birthday present shopping for my niece. Gym. Watched movie Limitless, merely OK.
Sunday: Grocery shopping. Nice family lunch, possibly the last one before my sister and her family emigrate. Coursera work.
My work week was divided into: 30% testing; 30% bug fixing; 30% demo presentation; 10% new work.
Podcasts listened to this week: How I Built This; Tim Ferriss #263; What It Takes; CppCast; Code Newbies;
